According to the office of Public Protector, President Jacob Zuma has still not responded to a letter that was sent to him over a month ago regarding his Nkandla home.
Oupa Segalwe, acting spokesman at the office of Public Protector said: “The letter was sent on 15 September 2014. A reply has not been received and Thuli Madonsela has decided to leave the matter to Parliament.”
Segalwe said the clarification given by Western Cape High Court Judge Ashton Schippers was in line with the view Madonsela had always held that she did not make “mere recommendations” that could be ignored by organs of state.
The matter is now in the hands of Parliament.
