The truck driver is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate court today after he allegedly initiated a multi-vehicle collision that killed four people in Alberton on the N12 (East).
The driver was arrested yesterday and will face culpable homicide charges in relation to the deadly crash. The crash took place last Tuesday morning.
Two people were killed on the scene, two others died later in hospital and 16 were injured after the truck smashed into almost 50 cars.
The driver has allegedly claimed that his brakes failed, causing him to plough into the cars.
