SekelaXabiso (SkX) has announced the promotion of McComb Taylor as the company’s newest director. Taylor heads up SkX’s Forensic Audit Services unit after joining Sekela Consulting in 2012.
SkX’s specialized forensic audits and investigations are intended to detect, prevent and respond to fraud misconduct and general non-compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures in an organisation.
Forensic audit services include investigations into theft, fraud and corruption; commercial crime investigations; procurement irregularities; money laundering investigations; financial mismanagement investigations; and non-compliance with legislation relating to both the private and public sectors.
Taylor finished his legal articles and qualified as an attorney in 2000 and his experience includes his participation as a member of the team that dealt with the curatorships of FBC Fidelity Bank and Regal Treasury Private Bank.
Speaking at SkX’s Johannesburg offices, CEO Lindani Dhlamini says that Taylor’s promotion is well-deserved as his contribution to the success of the firm has been of excellent standard.
“McComb is hard-working, committed and he is a natural leader in the company. He is always willing to help our junior colleagues and he has steered his team to being a top performer in our firm’s ranks.”
Taylor is an admitted attorney and he has a BCom (Law), LLB, MCom (Forensic Accounting, a Diploma in Insolvency Law and Practice (AIPSA) and a Certificate of International Insolvency Law.
He has invaluable experience in forensic auditing and a variety of complex legal matters. Including in his experience at the curatorships of the FBC Fidelity Bank and Regal Treasury Private Bank, he has also attended various high profile curatorship matters and has worked closely with the Asset Forfeiture Unit.
On news of his promotion, Taylor says that he is both thrilled and slightly awed at the opportunity. “I have been head of the Forensic Unit for some time now, but to be a director at one of the leading audit firms means that growing the company and its employees also sits squarely in your lap,” he says.
“Our 20/20 Vision relies on our ability as directors to groom our teams into top performers and also continue to give our existing clients the very best in standards and services.”
Taylor is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (South African Chapter), the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA (SA)).
